Vision

To develop and put in place a higher education environment that encourages the growth of premier knowledge centers and individuals who are competent, innovative with high morale values to meet national and international needs.

The departments under the MOHE are the Higher Education Department (JPT) and the Polytechnic Management Department (JPP) and Community College Management Department (JPKK). The JPT is also comprised of two (2) management sectors, that is, IPTA Management Sector and the IPTS Management Sector.

The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) was established on 27 March 2004. On 15 July 2004, the Ministry of Higher Education began operating at Block E3, Parcel E, Pusat Pentadbiran Kerajaan Persekutuan Putrajaya. The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education is comprised of (3) three departments and an agency.

The agencies under the MOHE are Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), Yayasan TAR and Public Institutions of Higher Education (IPTA).
