Limkokwing University launches the ‘Generasi Digital’ scholarships worth RM3 million
Limkokwing University launched the ‘Generasi Digital’ career skills scholarships worth RM3 million to Bumiputera students from Malaysia at the Limkokwing Presidential Gallery on 27 August 2015.
Slated for the upcoming October intake, the Generasi Digital (digital generation) scholarships will be given to 100 deserving Bumiputera students. Out of these 100 scholarships, 20 scholarships will be for students to sit for their Bachelor degree programmes while 80 scholarships will be for students to sit for the dual award professional diploma – SKM level 3 programmes.
The scholarship will cover the tuition cost worth RM70,000 each for degree programmes, while for professional diploma programmes, the scholarship will cover the tuition cost worth RM20,000 each.
Since the establishment of Limkokwing as an educational institution that offers creative education, one of the University’s philosophy has always emphasised on the capacity building and education of Bumiputera students.
The University’s Founder and President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing has always been impressed with the creativity of Bumiputera students and believed that there are other Bumiputera students with innate natural artistic abilities and talents that can be cultivated. Tan Sri Lim believes that every individual should be able to be given the opportunity to hone these abilities and in fact, those who have been through the training and creative education in Limkokwing University have been successful in their careers.
These remarkable successes have been one of Tan Sri Lim’s proudest achievements and thus has become one of the main missions of the University until now.
At the same time, for the upcoming October intake, Limkokwing University will be providing opportunities to study at the University by offering 50% subsidy to all Malaysian students who wish to sit for a place in the latest digital technology programmes at the University.
