    Mochammad Ridhwan Muharam, an Limkokwing University student from Indonesia, said he was looking forward to the event.

The annual Indonesian art and music festival; Monophone, brought by the Merah Putih Club, is back again for its fifth year, this time around bringing more exciting presentations and activities.

The event will be held on the 17th of May, at the University’s Hall of Fame, and it will guest star Indonesian bands like Barry Likumahuwa Project, Bubu Giri, and Recall Band. Themed ‘Heritage of Indonesian Culture’, the event will also feature a lot of performances by students and members of the Merah Putih Club.

‘An International exposure for both Indonesian performers as well as creative talents.”

This year’s Monophone brings an interesting twist to the usual musical even by adding a fashion show that will showcase Indonesian traditional clothes, which will be modelled by international models.

“Talking about Monophone2014, I would say this is such a great media to promote Indonesia art and culture specifically in music and creative industry. #MONOPHONE2014 giving an International exposure for both Indonesian performers as well as creative talents that supporting its Art Exhibition. Based on that fact, I fully support Monophone 2014!”  Says Mochammad Ridhwan Muharam from Lombok, Indonesia who is a member of the Merah Putih club.

Staying true to its nature, the event will also feature different kinds of music and dances like k-pop and modern dance. The dance performances will also include traditional Indonesian dances, which will be performed by Saman Club; an Indonesian traditional dance club under Merah Putih.

There will also be an art exhibition that will showcase a variety of artwork portraying Indonesian culture and heritage. The artwork will incorporate both traditionally produced arts and crafts, as well as modern digitally created art. It will feature some of the famous Indonesian artists like Thomas Kurniawan and Aban Goldrick, both of which have artistic and creative styles that truly brings out Indonesian culture and heritage digitally.

The event will also include a premier screening of a short film by Teh O Ais; a movie production club under Merah Putih. The interactive short film, titled ‘Sehari Terakhir’, which means ‘Last Day’, is about a young girl making plans of what she intends to do in the last day of her life. Teh O Ais has produced many short films and movies, one of which has been played at Blitz Mega Plex Cinema, the largest cinema in Indonesia.

The event promises a lot of fun and activities, and Merah Putih Club invites the Limkokwing community to come join them in celebrating their culture and heritage.
