Limkokwing University welcomed 180 new students from 15 countries during the recent orientation programme on 9 Aug 2017.

The first week of the orientation programme enabled students from Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa to familiarise themselves with the University’s environment.

Students took part in ice breaker sessions to develop their communication skills and raise cultural awareness. During the session the students were introduced to the University’s International Student Ambassadors.

The Student Ambassadors provided new students with useful information about the University using various languages including English, Urdu, Farsi, Arabic, Russian, Hindi, Malay and Mandarin.

The University’s multi-ethnic representatives ensure that students from every country are represented and have access to the University’s facilities. Students were given a tour of the campus to learn more about the University’s history and how they could utilise its facilities to experience a conducive learning environment.

German student Marta Rosiek who is aiming to pursue a course in business said that she found the chance to study at Limkokwing University in Malaysia to be a wonderful opportunity.

“I thought it would be cool to study in Asia, because it was something new and exciting, and because everyone is going to America or Australia,” she said.

Marta explained that she managed to enrol in Malaysia due to Limkokwing University being partners with the University of Applied Sciences Emder, Germany.

“For my first experience here, it is very big, very multicultural and very creative,” she added.

Student from Bangladesh, HM Fahad Kabir who is aiming to pursue a career in information and technology, chose Limkokwing University due to its internationally recognised reputation.

He explained that the University’s profile would enable him to prepare to work in a multinational organisation.

“This is a good University for me and I hope to be able to learn as much as I can from here,” he said.

Limkokwing University’s orientation programme is conducted to ensure students receive the fullest benefit from their learning experience. The programme enables students to familiarise themselves with the University’s multicultural learning environment through campus tours, team building exercises and other group activities.
