Babur Zhumashov from Kyrgyzstan

Babur Zhumashov is from Kyrgyzstan, a country famous for its rugged mountains which dominate most of the country and are home to snow leopards, lynx and sheep.

“When I first came to Malaysia in November 2016, I noticed one vast difference between my country and Malaysia - the weather. Malaysia has only two seasons - the rainy and hot season - my country has all four seasons.”

Discovering Malaysia

Babur first found out about Malaysia through attending an ice hockey competition in Kyrgyzstan.

“There were six participants from Macao, Qatar, India, my country and Malaysia. I volunteered at the competition and got to know more about Malaysia. Since I had just graduated, I decided to start my research on higher education institutions in Malaysia, UK and US.”

He said he settled for Malaysia because it offered quality education with affordable costs.

Immense Cultural Experience

“Limkokwing University caught my attention from the very moment I saw its video advertisements. I saw videos of the annual cultural festival and I was really excited to study in a diverse environment.”

Babur said the best part of learning is being able to comprehend different cultures. “I am keen on knowing other people’s way of life, it makes you see and appreciate the world in a broader perspective.”

He said Limkokwing lecturers know how to precisely help students because they understand culture and people.

“Lecturers here go the extra mile to help students. What stands out most is that they understand people and cultures.”

Global University

“I am going to pursue my studies here and move on to a degree in business management. The University is the best choice for me, because it teaches international business concepts.”

Babur said students are exposed to global opportunities and industry practices while studying.

“With a Limkokwing University education, I’ll be able to work anywhere in the world. As is I speak 5 languages: Turkish, Russian, Kyrgyz, Kazakh and currently learning Korean.”

His advice for other students is to make the most of the opportunities Limkokwing University has to offer.

“This is the best University to study at; we learn through industry exposure, events, industry talks and cultural exchanges, take every opportunity there is to learn.”
