Media representatives from various news agencies were welcomed at the Cyberjaya campus on 21 March 2018, for a panel discussion and introduction to Limkokwing TVET International.
Upon arrival, the delegation was given a full tour of the campus, including the multi-camera production studio, teaching facilities and computer suites.
The journalists were then led to the Corporate Boardroom to engage in a panel discussion with Limkokwing University’s industry-based academician.

Success at its core
Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and Relations, Dato’ Fajura Juffa Mohd Mustafa Kamal, said Limkokwing TVET International is an initiative by the University to spearhead TVET education in Malaysia and that it would serve as a platform to allow people to see opportunities they never could have imagined before.
“Malaysia is in need to increase 40% of Malaysian youths into skilled youths, and we intend to provide a base for those students who’ve finished their higher education to explore the vocational and technical opportunities and to be successful in life,” said Dato’ Fajura.
She also mentioned that via Limkokwing TVET International, the University will channel in-depth industry-related teaching.
“There is no need for anyone to be confined, TVET International is big and it serves even a bigger purpose of not only to upskill but to upscale technical and vocational capabilities among the individuals in the society,” said Dato’ Fajura.
Another panelist, reknowned author Ms. Ambi Mathe, said Limkokwing TVET International is open to all, encouraging people from all backgrounds to learn skills that would prove to be beneficial for the betterment of the country.
Real industry players
Vice President and Limkokwing Academy of Creativity & Innovation Chair, Dato’ Raja Aznil Bin Raja Hisham said although Limkokwing is an institution by nature, the operating process involves a lot of real time, industry-based practices.
“You may be academically excellent, but what purpose do you serve if you don’t have a talent which has a bigger say,” said Dato’ Raja Aznil.
He added that talent, passion and committment are the three top most important aspects of life that will lead a person to success.
Representing the Faculty of Communication, Media & Broadcasting, Mr. Ray Krill said Limkokwing TVET International is an initiative that will give hands-on experience to all those interested to explore hidden talents.
“There’s a massive amount of possibilities we are presenting here for the Malaysian public, as we are not only looking to build skills and talents through the professional areas, but also for the society and culture itself,” shared Mr. Krill.
“Imagine being a farmer in the agricultural industry in Malaysia, and having some ideas to further improve the market through technological methods, well that’s when Limkokwing TVET International comes in at the right time,” he added.
“Malaysia is a country with various talents, therefore Limkokwing TVET International will embark on a journey of allowing Malaysia to be the hub of skilled resource,” concluded Dato’ Fajura, as the session drew to a close.
