Associate Degree in Retail Design & Management

The retail industry, being a significant sector of the economy, relies on design to sustain its growth. The program offers training in the area of retail design and it also includes elements of retail management skills.

The Retail Design and Management program prepares students to thrive in the industry through the introduction of industry-related projects throughout the course of study. This is crucial as the profession revolves around multidisciplinary teams working in the retail environment that serves to bridge the gap between architects and designers, retail managers and developers, and ultimately, the retail consumers.

In the program, students are exposed to comprehensive aspects of the retail environment and trends in the interior of retail spaces. They will be progressively introduced to the fundamentals of design and explorations in retail design processes. The learning experience is further enhanced through trainings in drawing, including Computer-Aided Design, building science and construction, material and technical aspects related to retail design as well as contextual studies.

The program also covers modules in entrepreneurship and business planning. Additionally, industry training will also be provided along with exposures to industry-related projects. Such exposure serves to prepare students to be industry-savvy even before they enter the practice.

Entry requirements

Pass an ‘O’ Level or an equivalent qualification from a recognition institution by the local Ministry of Education.
