Founder of Malaysia Book of Records YBHG Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi received a Limkokwing University red carpet welcome on 28 August 2017 on his visit to the Cyberjaya campus.
Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi is a successful entrepreneur who also founded Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International and Miss Tourism International where he crowned more than 70 Miss Malaysia winners and 20 International Beauty Queens. The pageants are organised under D’Touch Promotions Sdn Bhd – a company he established in 1989.
The Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) was idealised in 1990 in line with Malaysia’s nation building towards vision 2020. MBR officially documents and recognises record-holders, record-breakers and record creators in the country. It also serves as a catalyst for Malaysians to challenge themselves and exceed expectations to keep the nation’s flag flying high.
In 1998, the first record book titled “The Malaysia Book of Records’ First Edition” was launched.
New editions of the book were subsequently published every two years. The second edition was published in 2000, third edition in 2002, fourth in 2004, fifth in 2006, sixth in 2008. Lastly, seventh and eighth editions were published in 2010 and 2012.
