On 11 Sept, Limkokwing Botswana held its graduation ceremony for the class of 2015 at the Gaborone campus. Themed ‘The Future is Now in your Hands’, the ceremony witnessed 1,379 graduates receive their well-earned Associate Degrees and Degrees in various disciplines.

Present at the ceremony were the country’s industry leaders, government officials and ambassadors. The event was also graced by the presence Limkokwing University’s Founder and President Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr Lim Kok Wing, Minister of Education and Skill Development H.E Dr. Unity Dow, Minister of Trade and Industry H.E Vincent Seretse and Limkokwing University’s Vice Chancellor Professor Cedric Bell.

Speaking on behalf of the University, Professor Bell conveyed that the graduates are empowered with skills and attributes to become global leaders of the next generation.

“Your educational experience has been imbued with the best in Asian, African and European values and experience,” he said while expressing the University’s continued commitment in shared global expertise to develop and deliver highly innovative programmes.

Dr Unity also reiterated the University’s dedication by encouraging human capital growth and job opportunities.

“I am delighted to confirm that the University has contributed to transforming the tertiary education of this country,” she said. “Not only irreversibly but also immeasurably for the better.”

According to her, the University has transformed the country’s creative industry sector since establishment in 2007. The Republic’s industries now embraces advertising, architecture, design, digital technology, fashion, film, music, performing arts, publishing, television, radio and video games.

Dr. Unity Dow also announced that the University has been included as a strategic partner in the recently introduced Target 20000 initiative which aims to transform career opportunities for Batswana youths during the ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony, students with outstanding performances were given the opportunity to receive recognition for their accomplishments.

Patience Kgetse, a Special Need graduate and ‘Extraordinary Achievement Award’ winner with an Associate Degree in Radio, Film & Television, expressed her profound appreciation to the University. 

“I am grateful for what Limkokwing University has done for us as special needs students,” she said. “With the help of Limkokwing Inclusive Education we have proven that disability is not inability.”

Limkokwing University offers students with positive learning opportunities with a multicultural environment. Graduates learn to develop global networking skills with industry exposure to achieve success upon graduation.
