Limkokwing University Swaziland’s Faculty of Media, Communications, and Broadcasting, in collaboration with the Municipal Council of Mbabane, recently held an intensive training seminar for Public Relations and Event Management students.

The training seminar,  ‘Crisis Management for Corporate Image Building’ was aimed at briefing students on ways to improve the image of organisations they will eventually work for when they graduate.

The event was attended by representatives from the municipal council, including Public Relations Officer, Ms. Gugulethu Hlope, who was impressed with the University’s approach to education, and invited the University to facilitate event management training for her organization.

Limkokwing University is globally known for its industry based approach to education, which provides platforms for students to gain industry experience before they graduate. The University also encourages students to explores their talents and develop them further.

The seminar facilitator, Mr Obakeng Kompo, who is an experienced industry professional and currently an Events Management lecturer with Limkokwing University, talked to the students about ways of handling different crises an organisation could meet, and encouraged the students to learn more on the subject so that they are ready for the industry.

The seminar ended with the eager students asking questions and saying they have learnt a lot through the seminar, and that they believed they would be able to handle crises in the industry should they meet any.
