The land of the Khmer offers cuisine revolving around its staple food—rice. Most meals usually come with a bowl of rice as well as a few dishes for company which can be stir fries, soup, or even curry. Each dish will be different from the other in terms of favour, be it sweet, sour, salty or bitter, so as to satisfy the full range of your palate.

FoodsNoodles are also a big draw in Cambodia where you can see roadside stalls being extremely popular, especially in the evenings. Rice noodle soup, known as 'kuyteav' by the locals, was introduced by the country's Chinese settlers and remains a cherished dish to this day.

The country being a former French colony, also boasts of French dishes that are enjoyed by both locals and tourists alike. One of them is the baguette, a type of bread that is typically enjoyed for breakfast with a mixture of meat paste called 'pâté', tinned sardines or eggs.
