Limkokwing students reproduce Malacca’s unique heritage in exhibition

Final semester Foundation in Communication students presented their final project in an exhibition titled ‘The Streets of Straits: The Intercultural City of Malacca’ recently.

The objective of this exhibition is to train students to produce tangible work with data and information that they collected and compiled.

The exhibition made use of the five modules taught in the final semester of the Foundation in Communication programme — Creative Studies, Introduction to Multimedia, Intercultural Communication, Introduction to Social Studies and Professional Writing.

The integration of all five modules was vital as it allowed students to explore the subjects from various angles to produce the best outcome.
The exhibition took 10 gruelling weeks to complete, from data collection to research compilation and execution. Students collected the necessary input and information during their participation in the Malacca Global Classroom programme.

In Malacca, the students experienced the city’s rich culture and heritage, and participated in activities that stimulated their creativity.

They were asked to utilise all their five senses—smell, sight, taste, hearing and touch—to reproduce the buildings and structures available in Malacca together with its unique trails and way of life.

During the exhibition, the students donned traditional clothes and performed classical dances in a captivating presentation that allowed guests to experience the straits of Malacca on the Limkokwing Cyberjaya campus.
