Responsibilities:

The Vice-Chancellor is expected to provide a significant contribution to the leadership, strategic planning and management of the University. The role of the Vice-Chancellor is to ensure continuing development of the University’s core education, planning and quality assurance activities; to supervise the activities of the Deans and Deputy Vice-Chancellors in developing and implementing University goals and priorities in their areas and to support the President (including deputising for him) as required. In pursuing this, the Vice-Chancellor provides leadership and vision in developing and achieving the University’s strategic goals, particularly in relation to education activities across the University. It is expected that leadership in these responsibilities will be exercised in a productive interaction with the academic governance framework and particularly with the Academic Board and its sub-committees. The Vice-Chancellor will ensure that the President is briefed and advised in an appropriate and timely fashion, particularly on education, faculty and planning issues, and will undertake or coordinate major projects as required.

• University Libraries
• Office of Planning and Quality
• Professional and Continuing Education
• Strategy and Policy
