The Lesotho University and Colleges Sports Association (LUCSA) is an association that organizes annual competitions among the 14 higher educations institutions in Lesotho, of which Limkokwing University is a member. This year in March, to celebrate Moshoeshoe’s day (a day in which the nation commemorates the founder of the nation king Moshoeshoe I), the association organized ball games and track events for both men and women. Basketball Club at the same time was also part taking in the national basketball league.

  2. Table-Tennis won Silver Medals in team events

  7. Our football club was knocked out in the quarter finals, despite their great efforts. But not all was lost, 3 of our players were selected in the national team that represented Lesotho in the games that were later held in Botswana in July 2010. Proving the team’s exceptional skill.

In the previous year at the same competition, 85.7%of the clubs won the medals. This included the Golden trophy by the Tennis Club. We won Gold in the female category by the hand of Nthabiseng Nqosa. In the men’s singles we brought home Gold and Silver by the hand of Chaka Mokhele and Bataung Makhutla respectively. This was indeed a result of hard work from our players and the coaches.

The CUCSA holds a biennial tournament and for 2010, it was held in Botswana in July from the 4th to the 10th. This was the 15th CUCSA games, and marked the 20th Anniversary.

The LUCSA games held in March earlier this year were used to select the preliminary national teams that would be used to compete with the counterpart national teams at the university and college levels from all SADC countries.

At this even representing their country were 11 of our very own.
