FoodsThe staple food of Lesotho includes bread, potatoes and rice. Corn meal is boiled and made into a dish called 'papa.' Beans, cabbage and pumpkins are grown in abundance while wild spinach can be found in a number of places.

The locals also enjoy mutton, chicken and eggs while in areas close to rivers, freshwater fish supplements the diet. One of the local delicacies you will encounter on a regular basis is fried cake, which is quite similar to a doughnut, and very popular among the locals. There are plenty of fruits for dessert as well with apples, apricots, peaches, pears and quinces grown in many places.
