Limkokwing Lesotho officially welcomed over 1000 new students in its 8th Orientation ceremony themed, ‘The Power to be the Best’ hosted at the MP Campus on August 21 and 22.

The orientation commenced with a welcome address from the University’s President and Founder, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing delivered by the Regional Director of Marketing and Recruitment, Ms. Marcia Mangadi. 

In his welcome note, Tan Sri Lim greeted the new students, saying, “The journey has begun. And it is going to be exciting. It is a journey that need never end. Every destination will lead you to new challenges.”

Tan Sri Lim assured the new students that the University is committed to help them discover their passion and unlock their hidden talents. 

The new intake students were screened and selected from over 2000 applicants for the 2015/2016 intake. Ms. Mangadi congratulated the new students for being chosen to pursue their education at the world’s most globalised and creative university. She praised them in her speech for making the best decision of their lives by choosing Limkokwing University.

“You are going to be a part of a very exciting, creative and innovative journey for the next 3 to 4 years,” Ms. Mangadi added.

The two-day event’s line up also entailed presentations from Limkokwing Lesotho’s different faculties and departments to give the new students a glimpse into the University’s unique ecosystem.

Limkokwing University strives to uphold the philosophy of Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing in creating an environment that will fill an individual with the emotional intelligence that respects and appreciates different cultures and traditions from around the world.

Students were also given insights on the various creative courses available in different faculties and the industry-based syllabus designed to train them to be career-ready graduates. Prominent industry partners from health bodies, banks and communication networks were also present to enlighten the students on the challenges that await them in the industry.

Some of the University’s exceptional and high-achieving alumni motivated the new students to be determined and shared their experiences on how the University transformed them into better citizens of the country.
