The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Global Business Communication is designed to produce graduates with comprehensive knowledge that informs, moves, creates and shapes the world of communication from business perspectives. Students will be exposed to a broad-based learning experience encompassing nearly all major aspects of communication such as journalism, advertising, broadcasting, corporate communication and public relations. The programme will also develop learners’ ability to apply communication techniques critically and objectively in real life situations of the world of business.
In this programme, students will be:
- Guided to recognize, within a global economic order, the humanist perspective of the human resources that will occupy diverse positions in global business.
- Taught with the planning, organizing, and control and leadership skills used in the global business environment.
- Exposed to the importance of acquiring diverse skills in the global environment. They will analyze and synthesize, specifically, innovation experimentation and design skills that will allow them to operate in diverse organizations within global business.
- Guided to participate in innovating and creating a global market.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain the communication process from the positions of “receiver” and “sender” in business contexts, including faxes and email.
- Apply reasoned, practical, and ethical communication principles when writing business messages.
- Recognize the nuances of written and oral communication practices in a global context.
- Demonstrate business communication skills in independent and collaborative situations.
- Analyze various business communications employing communication theory.
- Design and deliver an effective oral presentation on a business topic.
Entry Requirements
- Pass STPM/A level with minimum 2 principals; OR
- Pass Foundation/Pre-University/Matriculation in related field; OR
- Pass Diploma in related field; OR
- Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government
Students with a recognized Diploma in related field will be given advanced standing into the Degree programme.
