This course provides an overview of essential skills for the practice of management in an international business context. It covers practical applications of management including: setting a mission and vision for the global business enterprise; developing a global business plan; conducting research in an international environment; understanding the nuances of cultural, legal, political and regulatory differences; and using technology to support global trade. Material is presented in the form of readings, practical applications, and self assessments.
As the world becomes a global marketplace, many businesses seek to expand their operations across national borders. Multinational corporations from various industries work with international clients and suppliers. The BA (Hons) in International Management focus specifically on learning cross-cultural skills and international business management.
When you graduate you will be able to:
- Demonstrate a sound appreciation of management practice, including human resources, marketing, accounting and finance and information management.
- Understand how businesses function and how they interact with their environment.
- Appreciate the wider global picture - and how business operates within it.
- Show a real awareness and understanding of contemporary global business issues.
On a more practical level, you will be able to:
- Apply business theory to a range of contemporary business challenges.
- Work effectively in a number of roles within a team.
- Plan and execute research projects.
- Effectively communicate results at whatever level is appropriate to the audience.
Entry Requirements
- Pass STPM/ A Level with minimum 3 principals; OR
- Pass Foundation/Pre-University/Matriculation in related field; OR
- Pass SM3 UEC with grade B in 5 subjects; OR
- Pass Diploma in related field; OR
- Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government
Students with a recognized Diploma in related field will be given advanced standing into the Degree programme.
