The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Mobile Media Production is an innovative and exciting programme aimed at teaching students how to develop content for future applications of mobile devices from iPad type devices to cell/mobile phones to personal handheld devices.
The growth in usage and application of all kinds of mobile electronic devices has caused a change in the way some companies develop and distribute software. Users are increasingly looking for high-speed access, dynamic, entertaining and diverse content in all types of media on mobile and hand held devices: music, video, Internet, movies, games, medical, mobile learning and many other applications. In fact, the business of Mobile Applications now feature in the top ten world companies, with forecasts of sector growth and employment prospects being very encouraging.
Students are taught key content technologies and elements in the creation of mobile applications such as animation, web development, video, image manipulation and assorted development tools. Classes are student-centered, interactive, collaborative and multi-disciplinary; giving students multiple avenues in their respective areas of specialization from iphone Development tools to Windows Mobile. The course also develops practical skills to become a mobile application developer, as well as general knowledge of computing and experience of programming.
This is relatively new and rapidly-growing industries that offer an excellent and interesting career prospects. There are great career opportunities for students interested in the development of mobile apps, game design and internet programming.
Entry Requirements
- Pass STPM / A Levels with minimum 2 principals; OR
- Pass Foundation / Pre-University / Matriculation programme in related field; OR
- Pass Diploma in related field; OR
- Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government
Students with a recognized Diploma in related field will be given advanced standing into the Degree programme.
