Businesses today, no matter how big or small, are becoming increasingly reliant on effective information systems to ensure smooth operations. Developers require the skills and knowledge relevant to the development of information systems and IT applications within the business environment. The degree in Business Information Systems is designed to provide a complete understanding of the principles, theory and practice of the development of information systems and computer applications.
They will be trained to develop creative and flexible approach to problem-solving, and the ability to deliver practical solutions to a range of challenges. The students are not only limited to in-class theoretical lectures, but are also exposed to practical classes where they can put all these theories to creative use. They will be able to design information system applications for specific commercial requirements and build small-scaled database systems to implement web-based applications.
Entry Requirements
- Pass STPM/ A Level with minimum 3 principals including general studies; OR
- Pass Foundation/Pre-University/Matriculation in related field; OR
- Pass SM3 UEC with grade B in 5 subjects; OR
- Diploma in related field from any institution recognized by government; OR
- Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government
Students with a recognized Diploma in related field will be given advanced standing into the Degree programme.
