code-a-thon 2009 & MSC Malaysia APICTA 2009Limkokwing Games Degree final year students walked away with the Best of Tertiary Students Project (Creative Multimedia) award at the annual APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Award) 2009. Their game called "Smog Busters" has an environmental slant that entertains while it educates. The game has innovative features that allow it to be played on both the PC and X-Box 360.

Earlier this year five of our students won the Code-a-thon 2009, a computer game development competition held in conjuction with the Singapore Youth Olympic Games. The students won for overall innovation, quality, impressiveness and entertainment value. They were given just 30 hour to stay on-site to develop their game. The Limkokwing campus is designed to stimulate creativity in all student. It nurtures the mindset where innovation is pursued with passion. The presence of creative students from over 150 countries adds a unique vibrancy that widens perspectives through shared viewpoints and multicultural exchange.

For the first time in APICTA's 10-year history a computer games programme won an award. The programme was designed by a team of five students - Bryan Ong Kuan Ting, Joseph Gan Kwang Seng, Umar Mochtar, Noorul Hassan Faial Naseer and Lim Chiou Chow.
