The university is in Cyberjaya, a planned township located 50km south of Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur. Next to Cyberjaya is the country’s federal administrative centre, Putrajaya. Cyberjaya takes its inspiration from Silicon Valley, with its many smart homes, business parks and high-tech commercial high-rises, while Putrajaya offers an exciting mixture of contemporary and exoticism—many of its buildings conspire with European and Middle Eastern-themes and showcase Islamic influences that inspire the city’s distinctive cultural identity.
