Limkokwing University fashion students attended a seminar by online retail mogul Zalora on May 6th at the University campus. The talk was conducted by Zalora Malaysia’s Managing Director Luca Barberis and Associate Buying Director Alvin Raj.
Zalora is the largest fashion e-commerce in South East Asia, dealing on apparels, accessories, shoes, and beauty products for women and men. Headquartered in Singapore, Zalora has branches in 7 South East Asian countries including Malaysia, and sells both international and local brands in each country of operation – one of them being Limkokwing Fashion Club brand.
Barberis and Raj visited the Limkokwing Fashion Club Boutique to see the University’s creativity and progress in introducing student to the fashion industry. They were both impressed by the University’s practicality, Barberis saying the University’s holistic approach to education was exactly what young people needed to survive in today’s competitive markets when they graduate.
“Limkokwing Fashion Club has fresh and contemporary designs that are exactly what today market demands is,” Barberis said.
“It trains fashion students for the industry, giving them early insights in real-life working environment by taking them beyond the classrooms experience,” he said. Limkokwing University gives students an opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the industry.”
Both Barberis and Raj complemented the fashion label’s sleek edge into contemporary fashion, saying it was setting future fashion trends. They each took home a Limkokwing Fashion Club jacket, items they said they were proud to now own, and felt even more proud Zalora featured the cutting edge designs.
