Muhammad Jibril: Best Goalkeeper of the competition
Merah Putih Club’s futsal team ‘Lubang Buaya’ emerged as champions of the Nusantara Cup 2014, which was held on the 27th Sept 2014 at Nilai University.
Nusantara Cup is a futsal tournament organised as a collaboration between the Indonesian Student Society of Nilai University and INTI University. Limkokwing University’s Merah Putih Club was invited to join the tournament, which was intended to bring together Indonesian students in Malaysia.
Merah Putih is the Indonesia student community in Limkokwing University, which constantly holds events to share and celebrate Indonesian culture and traditions with Limkokwing University’s global community.
Lubang Buaya went against 9 teams from different universities, playing well and registering strong wins, which ultimately led them to the Cup championship and a win of trophies and RM 500 cash prize. The team’s goalkeeper, Information Technology student Muhammad Jibril was also selected ‘Best Goalkeeper’ of the competition.
The tournament was held alongside a bazaar which sold various Indonesian traditional knickknacks and food treats, which the players and game attendants indulged in happily, enjoying the jovial atmosphere of the event.
