Limkokwing International Choir singing Satu Malaysia, which promotes unity and national pride among people.
The patriotic song, Satu Malaysia, moves people and instils national pride in them. Cutting across race, culture, religion and boundary, the song created a cult of sorts with many people relating to its message of unity and pride in being a Malaysian.
About a million hits from 142 countries have been registered online.
It all began when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak initiated the Satu Malaysia campaign last year to engineer Malaysia’s success through national unity.
Limkokwing founder president Tan Sri Dr Lim Kok Wing fine-tuned the concept into a tune that continues to captivate the heart and minds of all.
Lim left it to Anuar Razak, director of Limkokwing Sound and Music, to take care of the lyrics and music arrangement while Limkokwing students worked round the clock to come up with a final cut.
Lim said:“No one has used it extensively as we have to promote it.
He said the song had crossed borders, signifying acceptance of the universal message of unity and national pride among people.
Anuar said it was only through music that one could hope to penetrate multicultural differences and build a new and better world.
The song was among six compositions selected by the Information, Communications and Culture Ministry from 341 entries.
Today, it is played on radios and each time it goes on air, it sounds better.
