British higher education is world class. The excellence of the teaching and research in British universities is acknowledged worldwide and Limkokwing Borneo has recently implemented a partnership programme with the prestigious Anglia Ruskin University to introduce their degree programmes here in Kuching.

The Anglia Ruskin 3+0 Degree programmes enables a student to receive a British degree in the comfort of their own homes without having to compromise with the quality of the education.

“This is an exciting opportunity for us at Anglia Ruskin to be able to work together with Limkokwing Borneo,” says Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lesley Dobree who was in Kuching recently to conduct the staff development training. “We see this partnership with Limkokwing Borneo as a chance of advancing knowledge and education of students, which goes hand-in-hand with our visions at Anglia Ruskin.”

“Our partnership with Borneo stemmed from our connection with Limkokwing in Cyberjaya and we are looking forward to our collaboration with the Kuching campus as we are the first UK university to be linked with higher education in Borneo,” she adds.

Wherever in the world students study for their degree, if they study through Anglia Ruskin University, they will be studying for a degree which adheres to the rigorous standards set by the British government for all UK higher education.

At Limkokwing Borneo, the modern approach to learning is one that will give students an edge when they are competing for a job and will prove to employers that the graduates are capable of independent thought, self-discipline and prepared to work hard. It will also enable students to improve one’s English language skills and give you a headstart in an international career.

Students also have the option of transferring their studies to Anglia Ruskin at any point of their programme if they want to and can even conduct their research in any of the Limkokwing campuses worldwide. Limkokwing also has a collegial network with over 170 universities in 77 countries.

This flexibility of the programme allows Limkokwing students to be able to be exposed to different learning environments that will not only develop their talents but also train them into becoming leaders of the future.

“I chose to do the Anglia Ruskin Graphic Design degree programme not only because it allowed me to complete my degree right here in Kuching, but also because I knew that I would be receiving a quality education from a globally recognized university,” says Natasha binti Rusdy Wong who will be the pioneer group of students taking up the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Graphic Design. “The fact that I can choose to complete my training in London is an added bonus as I will be exposed to the industrial challenges in such an advanced country, which will in turn allow me to hone my talents and skills. I am certain that I will be become a well rounded and highly sought after graduate upon completion of my degree.

“When a student signs up for an Anglia Ruskin programme, they automatically become a student of not one but two universities and by the same token they will enjoy twice the benefits,” says Limkokwing’s Assistant Director Corporate Development Nikki Lugun.

“As an Anglia Ruskin University student you have the option to travel to the UK to use the facilities at Anglia Ruskin and as a Limkokwing student you will gain from our unique approach to education that gives you the opportunity to be involved in industry projects,” she adds.

Limkokwing Borneo will be commencing the Anglia Ruskin 3+0 Degree programmes in February 2009, offering, for a start, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Graphic Design, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Business Management and Bachelor of Science (Hons) Computer Science.
