Twice a year, Limkokwing University Cyberjaya welcomes students from Korea for an exclusive Limkokwing International House Summer Camp.
Students from Kyung Hee University and Tongwon College were thrilled by the experience. During the short course, which took place from July 27th to August 14th, the students had a chance to familiarize themselves with their new education hub. They were amazed by various activities that the campus had to offer - entertainment, fitness, dining, and industrial works.
The camp built students’ confidence and personality by making the learning process fun and interactive. They had an opportunity not only to sharpen their English skills, and also taught them a new thing or two. They were introduced to different types of dancing (Salsa, Hip-hop, and Samba), worked their muscles in mini sports, and gave their best poses for a photo shoot.
Upon completion, a mini graduation ceremony was held, where each student was awarded with an English proficiency certificate.
Park Seok Jung, 24, from Kyung Hee University, found the Sound and Music Studio ‘most exciting’. “It is impressive to see how Limkokwing University encourages students to express their creative talents”, he said.
Jin Young Mi, 21, said she gained more self-confidence in the camp. “We had a chance to communicate with international students, and the more we spoke, the better our communication skill became.” She added that she would miss Malaysia and the university when she returned home.
The Korean students had adapted easily to campus life in Malaysia, and even got to travel to popular places and beaches in Malaysia.
Under the Korean Summer Camp 2009 program, another group of students from Kyung Hee University also had an opportunity to study in Limkokwing London. The program started on July 1st and will last for four months. So far, the feedback from students has been positive. Hopefully it will be an unforgettable memory and an experience of a lifetime.
The Summer program is designed for students seeking to improve their vocabulary range, oral fluency as well as writing skills for education purposes. Classes are offered in all aspects, including speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar.
Limkokwing University is the only university which has an International House in Malaysia where more than 6000 students from all over the world enroll to improve their fluency in the English language.
