A medley of 25 songs from a collection of over 1,000 composed and produced by the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology was launched by Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Bin Yaakob, the Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism in conjunction with the closing ceremony of the Rakan Gerak Gempur Cetak Rompak campaign held at the Cyberjaya campus.

The exclusive Limkokwing CD compilation - A Tapestry of Malaysian Inspiration - features past and recent tracks and tells the journey of the country on its way to becoming a developed nation by 2020 and beyond.
The music and lyrics give the songs a rousing sense of patriotism that never fails to draw people together to see beyond their race, culture and religion. It has all the ingredients to bring Malaysians together instilling in them a spirit of unity needed to rise to new levels of national unity.

Dato Sri Ismail Sabri welcomed by staff and students at the Hammerhead; the minister came to close the Rakan Gerak Gempur Cetak Rompak campaign held at the campus by his ministry.

Produced by the Limkokwing Sound and Music Academy, the album is fused with a balance of high and low beats with a magic of its own to attract both the young and old. Over the past four decades, the Academy has produced over 1,000 original songs and music winning many awards to date.

Satu Malaysia raises the bar

The song Satu Malaysia that carries a strong message of national unity has become one of the most popular tunes; it not only rules the local airwaves, but has attracted wide international appeal as well.

On a global scale, this song, performed in Bahasa Malaysia, has surpassed over 2 million hits through leading social networks, winning the hearts of an international audience from 163 countries and counting.

The album also includes Engkaulah Inspirasi a dedication to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for his inspiring policies to innovate and develop Malaysia to the next level.

Malaysia Boleh is another favourite that is already shaping a new way of thinking amongst all Malaysians.

In the early 80s, Limkokwing produced Kaulah Doktorku specially composed for the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed, when he took over the premiership of the country in 1981.

Collector’s Edition

Similarly, Malaysians will instantly relate to Malaysia Inovatif, which invites the people to join hands in working for a united and innovative nation.

The latest addition is Permaisuri dedicated to the Raja Permaisuri Agong. This is the University’s tribute to Her Majesty’s reign which will come to an end later this year.

Recognition of IP

A Tapestry of Malaysian Inspiration was launched by Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Bin Yaakob soon after he had officially closed the Rakan Gerak Gempur Cetak Rompak programme at the University.

Thanking Limkokwing for hosting the event, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri said he noted with pride the efforts of the University to promote a similar anti-piracy campaign years ago.

“We all know that creativity and innovation is the credo of this University, and I understand that Limkokwing University started a campaign on combating piracy on its own held at its main campus. I congratulate the University for its Pro-active Stance on this matter by assisting the Ministry in the campaign.”

Advocate of Intellectual Property

Earlier in the morning there was a discussion on IP Protection, which was attended by students from other universities, including Limkokwing University.

By holding the Cetak Rompak function at the University, the Malaysian government is acknowledging Limkokwing’s vast contribution to Intellectual Property creation since the 70s through countless journals, magazines, music and songs, innovative ideas, creative content, designs, advertising and many other literary assets.

“We recognize the contributions of inventors and innovators in the development of the economy and enhancement of the competitiveness of the country. It is important to foster a culture of creativity and innovation, a culture to protect and manage intellectual property as a strategic asset.”
