The Alleycats Music Video Competition was recently re-launched in Limkokwing University. The competition was a tribute to Loganathan Arumugam, a member of Alleycats who passed away in early June. It is also in response to the Government’s drive to encourage creativity and the development of local content.

According to Encik Kamil Othman, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) vice president, the competition is part of “a global initiative to recognise one of Malaysia’s icons.”

Participants can download a 90-second Alleycats video from the NGT Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd website where they can create their own interpretation of the song. From 12 – 18 of August, finalists will be selected where they will be funded to create a full-length Alleycats video from any of the group’s hit songs. The works of the finalists will be fully funded by Universal Music and MDeC.
