At a colourful ceremony punctuated by powerful visuals and moving songs, 429 students from 30 countries in four continents received their scrolls at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology.

This year marked a historic milestone for the university which has organised four graduation ceremonies, including a landmark occasion in Gaborone, Botswana. Equally meaningful was that it has bestowed honorary doctorates on three outstanding political figures - former President of the Republic of South Africa H.E. Nelson Mandela, former President of the Republic of Botswana H.E. Festus Mogae and Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak.

The atmosphere at the Cyberjaya campus was international as foreign dignitaries, parents and guests attended the graduation. A total of 25 students from 10 countries received outstanding performance awards, which included 13 Young Achievers and six High Achievers and.

Enthralling performances by students

Another 53 students were proud recipients of awards sponsored by 10 private organisations and government agencies. The sponsors included Microsoft (M) Sdn Bhd, Multimedia Development Corporation, Nestle Malaysia, The Pavilion, Bernama, Malaysia Institute of Directors, Astro, Malaysian Branding and Packaging Design Academy, Tesco, and L’oreal Malaysia.

The recipients were from Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Iran, Brunei, Kenya, Maldives, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, Tanzania, Cambodia, Mauritius and Macedonia.

The graduation ceremony was interspersed with songs rendered by musically talented students whose performances enthralled graduates, parents and corporate guests.

Trained in a multicultural, international environment, each of the successful students could proudly claim to be a global graduate with a fresh outlook on the changing world. Now they are empowered with creative skills to face the real world. And they are industry-ready.

Besides Cyberjaya, Limkokwing has campuses in Kuching, China, Indonesia, Cambodia, the United Kingdom, Botswana and Lesotho. The Gaborone campus has the largest number of students as it accommodates 12,000 students at three complexes.
