Felda (Federal Land Development Authority) Youth Groups from Bukit Gading, Chini and Sebertak paid a visit recently to Asia’s leading innovative University.

The visitors were finalists of the Felda Youth Excellence Award Malaysia 2009 (Anugerah Persatuan Belia Cemerlang Felda Malaysia) and came to Limkokwing University for a campus familiarisation tour where they had the opportunity to discover the business units such as the Limkokwing University Hair Design Academy as well as Sound and Music Design Academy.

The Bukit Gading Felda Youth Group was announced winner of the Felda Youth Excellence Award Malaysia 2009 last December for their fund-raising efforts and youth development projects aimed at enriching Bukit Gading Felda residents. Finalists were rewarded with prize money, trophies and sponsored visits to higher education institutions.

“I would be interested to further my studies in Limkokwing University and I was very impressed by the diversity and the various cultures represented on this campus,” said 19-year old Amirudin from the Sebertak Felda Youth Group from the Mempaga district.

The youth groups also paid a visit to the Limkokwing University-SMECorp Branding Innovation Centre which was recently launched to sensitise small and medium entrepreneurs on the importance of branding and packaging.

Another youth, Sufiat Bin Mat, said that he would be interested to pursue an Arts course in Limkokwing University because he was very impressed with what the Limkokwing students have created. He observed that the University was different from other universities and that it had a large international student population.
