Students from the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) will now be able to carry out their training programmes and internships at Advanced Micro Devices Global Services (M) Sdn Bhd (AMD GS).
The year-long programme follows the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding between the university and the technology company.
The pact will expose the students to the latest information communication technology (ICT) and global SSO (shared services and outsourcing) development within he company. In return, the company will benefit from exposure to the creative talent pool of students at the university, and to share its expertise by conducting development workshops.
At the signing ceremony, the company was represented by Boonsiri Somchit, vice-president of Global Accounting and Financial Services, while the university was represented by its vice-president for international development, Dr Jayles Yeoh.
LUCT is the first Malaysian university in the creative education sector to pioneer the concept of partnering with companies that enable its students to spend a duration of their course in an attachment programme with them.
The university is currently affiliated with more than 27 firms, with AMD as its most recent addition.
