Life is like a piece of cloth. Over the years, that very piece of cloth will be torn, dirty, crinkled, faded or smelly. Or, we can choose to patch up the piece of cloth with beautiful patterns, colours and design to make more interesting and beautiful. The choice is of course up to us, as per the title of Kain Warna-Warni suggested.

Life, choices, friendship, relationship, sexuality, death and lost are the main themes in this film. I personally felt it was a breakthrough for our film industry as there is a scene of two girls kissing, as to tackle issues like sexuality and social acceptance.

This film is about Danur, Kirana, Lana and Bella having a reunion at a cafe, after not meeting each other since high school. They then came up with the idea of going for a short vacation, either to the beach or the mountains.

The film is divided into two plots, based on the choices made by Danur, Kirana, Lana and Bella. Each choice will affect the lives of these young people forever, as each plot unfolds the outcome of the end of their journey.

Kain Warna Warni was released in April 2009 and was screened in the Limkokwing Hall of Fame on the 9th of May 2009. It is the first motion picture from Teh O Ais Productions, organised by Limkokwing’s Merah Putih club.
