From 1 July, a group of excited youths will have the opportunity of a lifetime, camping at Limkokwing London. These students, who are still studying at Kyung Hae University in Korea, will be at Limkokwing London campus for the next four months under the Korean Summer Camp 2009 programme.
Upon their arrival in London, the students were brought to their accommodation in Paragon and left to freshen up and unwind after the long journey. Later in the afternoon, they were brought to the London campus for briefing.
Each and every one of them was given a welcome pack consisting of the four week programme, Limkokwing brochures and T-shirts.
To give a clearer perspective to the students about Limkokwing University, the summer camp participants were showcased with the “Free-roaming Bird” video as well as the Limkokwing London video.
Despite feeling jet-lagged after a long flight, the students had shown a high interest during the tour around the campus. While touring, the students exchanged views and asked some questions to enhance their knowledge about the campus.
Knowing that it is a necessity to let their parents or guardians know that the students had safely arrived, they were given some time to check their emails and were also allowed to call home to speak to their parents.
To kick start their day at London, all of them were brought for a sight seeing trip at Picadally and this was followed by a scrumptious dinner.
Class will only commence the next day.
Overall, the feedback from the students is encouraging; most of them are very content with the accommodation, campus and lecturers.
Hopefully, this summer camp will bring much benefit and create unforgettable memories for all of the students.
The summer camp is a bi-annual event, designed especially to give opportunity to students to expand their range of vocabulary and develop oral fluency, as well as to improve their writing in relevance to their various study paths.
Classes cover all aspects of the English language which includes grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, speaking as well as pronunciation.
