Latest Graduates of Generasi Baru FELDA Programme Stake Their Claim on Creativity and Innovation

376 students under the Generasi Baru FELDA programme received their scrolls and individual awards at a graduation ceremony held at the Hall of Fame last week.

The Generasi Baru FELDA programme has seen over 900 graduates since it received its first batch of students in August 2005 and the latest batch of graduates is proof of the programme’s success to date in transforming FELDA’s next generation into world class graduates.

The graduates came from six different faculties—Architecture & the Built Environment; Communication, Media & Broadcasting; Multimedia Creativity; Information & Communication Technology; Design Innovation; and Business Management & Globalisation.

On hand to witness proceedings were several guests of honour including Tuan Haji Faizoull Ahmad, Director, Innovation & Development, Generasi Baru FELDA; Noor Ehsanuddin bin Hj. Mohd Harun Narrashid, Director Seranta FELDA, Prime Minister’s Department; His Excellency, Abdul Kadir, Ambassador, Republic of Senegal; as well as representatives from the embassies of Poland, Iraq, Ecuador, Ghana, Sudan and Palestine. Also in attendance were various directors, managers and officers of FELDA as well as the university’s industry partners.

Three graduates were conferred with the university’s highest award, the Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak Award for Creativity and Innovation as testament to their benchmark-setting efforts that were executed with a keen sense of responsibility that were both exceptional and exemplary. The three were Mohamad Hafizuddin Bin Mohd Saliman and Mohammad Yusuf Bin Mohd Tormizi from the Faculty of Communication, Media & Broadcasting; as well as Nur Hidayah Binti Mat Disa from the Faculty of Business Management & Globalisation.

Several students also received the Industry Award for Excellence which is given by industry leaders such as ASTRO, Apple, Canon, L’Oreal, Nestle and Bernama based on their outstanding work in various disciplines. In total, 36 students were recognized for their academic and co-curricular excellence across five different award categories.

The graduation ceremony saw performances from the Generasi Baru choir who belted out ‘Di Persada Dunia,’ a song that was composed by Limkokwing University’s Sound Academy, ‘You Raised Me Up’ and other moving songs for the attendees.
