Further embracing this concept, Limkokwing University, Cyberjaya campus welcomed its fellow Cambodian students on 25 July 2009 to Malaysia.

It was the first global classroom trip for the first-year students of Faculty of Architecture & Built Environment (FABE), Limkokwing Cambodia.

In order to further expose the students to architectural fundamentals of Malaysia, the students were brought to Kuala Lumpur city to discover the wonders of Kuala Lumpur’s architectural heritage. The trip then continued to the Limkokwing Cyberjaya campus where the students went through the campus familiarisation tour.

Monica Marquez, a student ambassador and also a student from FABE, Limkokwing Cambodia could not help feeling impressed, witnessing the size of the Cyberjaya campus.

“The Limkokwing Cyberjaya campus is impressive – the campus is huge! The most inspiring was the Branding Gallery, which features the students` works from different faculties,” mused Monica during the trip.

A visit to Malaysia would not be complete without visiting Melaka, the pride of Malaysian heritage. At this unique UNESCO heritage site, the students stopped by at “Mini Malaysia”, one of the city’s most famous attractions. Here, they observed living art, gaining better insight on Malaysian traditional architecture.

During this trip, students were also exposed to the lifestyle of Malaysians; from sampling the delectable local delicacies to learning about the Malaysian culture and enjoying the variety of goods available at Malaysia’s famous shopping malls.

“My classmates and I really enjoyed this trip. The cultural exposure, the friends we made here and the hospitality demonstrated made our trip worthwhile,” said a student, Wipphou Leong.

The short trip was an eye opener for the students, creating unforgettable experiences for them to bring back to Cambodia.

The global classroom concept was devised to provide a learning experience that is altogether different yet active. Students travel between Limkokwing`s global campuses, to understand various cultures and gain new friendships from all around the world.
