Dazzling, sizzling, thrilling

The stage was set for Limkokwing students to show off to the world their amazing talents and capabilities, and they certainly took it to the core inviting thunderous ovation from the crowds who occupied every nook and cranny of Palm Court, where it was held.

Often compared to as the other ‘united nations’, the University’s Cyberjaya campus itself is home to about 10,000 students coming from 145 nations and it is this cross cultural mix that empowered the climatic display of designs, cuts and hairstyling that really set the evening on fire till late night.

Celebrating creativity

The fashion show is one of many events that Limkokwing holds with regular frequency to celebrate creativity at its local and global campuses.

The concept is part and parcel of the teaching experience at Limkokwing University where ideas are nurtured to full bloom so students could appreciate its beauty, learn and be transformed into global graduates.

Limkokwing is all about ideas, ideas and more ideas that come alive with innovation triggering trends in 21st century creative education now enveloping the globe.

And at Jaya One, this mindset provided the students with the mood and exuberance to pitch their creativity to new levels, and they did it with marvelous professionalism enthralling the capacity-crowd last Wednesday.

Well-staged, well-performed
The evening’s main highlight was the fabulous Glam Rock designs that literally wowed the young and not-so-young audience that went wild with cheers and whistles when the student-turned-models from the University’s hair design faculty took to the catwalk.

It was breathtaking to say the least and at the end of their presentation, the eight models were joined on stage by their designers proud of their awesome creations.

The techno-music had to give way to the thunderous applause every time a model came on stage wearing a hairdo that was simply “out-of-this-world” as a young lady in the crowd was overheard screaming into her cell-phone.

Creativity in motion

Earlier on, Limkokwing’s fashion graduates from the ‘Class of 2010’ came up with several stunning creations merging global cultures and contemporary designs, each exuding a vibrancy of its own.

The Associate Head of the International Lifestyle Academy, Airene Wong was equally upbeat about her students’ professionalism that brought out the best in each one of them.

“We are very proud of the students and what they have accomplished here. They came up with the Glam Rock concept and their outrageous designs illustrate the hard work they put into their runway show.”
