Students from three continents present high-quality designs

Kuala Lumpur - Limkokwing University of Creative Technology organised a magnificent fashion show at The Pavilion here recently. Its Graduation Fashion Show, which is an annual event, was intended to show to the public the mettle of students at the end of their final year.

Twenty-one graduates put up the colourful show, which included the Limkokwing Prize Collection and Limkokwing London Collection. The former featured award-winning creations by Limkokwing students from Botswana and Cyberjaya.

Themed Magic, the show displayed the students’ high-quality designs and creativity. Student models and musicians lent support to the event.

Creativity was evident in specialised areas, including graphic design, multimedia, 3D animation, exhibition display, creative writing, event management, hair design, make-up and media relations.

Students from the university’s Sound and Music Design Academy fused a mixture of Asian, African and Western melodies to create pure magic. At the same time, their peers from the International Lifestyle Design Academy provided hair design and make-up.

There was an international splash of colour as students from the UK, Botswana, Kenya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius and Maldives stepped onto the catwalk.
Botswana student Anthony Sefemo, who won the Urban Cosmopolitan Couture category in the Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower show displayed his prize-winning designs. He won cash and prizes valued at RM1 million in the contest. Third-prize winner Opelo Lesake also presented her creations.

Tan Siok Hoon, who emerged the winner in the advertising photography of Paco Rabanne Black XS, showed her designs in the Prize Collection.

The audience were captivated by the students’ creativity, blend of music and choice of colours. Among the guests were showbiz celebrity Harith Iskandar, the CEO of Lewre, Lew Fonf Voon and fashion designers Khoon Hooi and Key Ng.

The show was strongly supported by the university’s industry partners which included L’Oreal Professional, Shu Uemura, Lewre, Bonita and The Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
