Limkokwing London recently played host to respected educators from the Republic of Korea. President of Daewon University College, Mr. Kim Hyo-Khum and Vice Principal of Ulsan Beauty Art High School, Mr. Yeo Chang Yeap led their respective delegations into the heart of London to learn all about Limkokwing’s innovative brand of education.
The Koreans were delighted to see the multicultural greeting party waiting to welcome them the moment they stepped into the campus. Kim, who has heard all about the university prior to this trip, seized the chance to visit its London outpost to explore opportunities for collaboration.
“It’s an honour for me to visit Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, London Campus; I am very impressed by the vision of Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Lim Kok Wing of globalisation in education. I wish him a prosperous future,” said Kim.
The visit turned out to be a success as both Kim and Yeo agreed to collaborate with Limkokwing University. Students from Daewon University and Ulsan Beauty Art High School will now participate in a Global Classroom programme designed specifically to accelerate their English language skills in London. This programme also includes a ‘Creative Studies’ module, in addition to their English lessons, that will engage them in new ways of learning to think out of the box. This particular module explores the nature of creativity from four different viewpoints: person, process, product and environment. The final goal is to develop their awareness of their creative potential.
Over the past few years, Limkokwing University has hosted thousands of Korean students for month-long English Camps in Cyberjaya. Their exposure to students from more than 100 countries on campus has given them a reason to practise what they learn in classrooms. Limkokwing London organised its own English Camp in the summer of 2009 and now looks set to host several more in the years to come.
