Limkokwing University always comes up with interesting activities for its students. Apart learning from the textbooks, students are encouraged to participate in discussions and presentations to enhance comprehension and also to sharpen their communications skill.
The students from Games Department, Faculty or Creative Multimedia had the opportunity to showcase their work in front of industry professionals during a critic session.
The presentation took place at Limkokwing Kuala Lumpur Center (KLC) from 9 June to 10 June 2009.
For the first day, presentation was focused to digital games where students proudly showed their online simulations and strategies.
It was not easy to build a digital game that will captivate the players from the beginning to the end of the game. Yet with practice, guidance and critics from the industry representatives, the students managed to come out with stimulating game play.
The second day was more into the traditional board game presentation. Although it may sound less exciting compared to the digital game; with fresh ideas given out by the students, the presentation turned out to be an interesting session.
The presentation which was a part of the Indusity programme enables students to gain more knowledge, experience and have a peek at the real working environment. It is a win-win situation for both students and the industry where the industry managed to harvest fresh ideas from the young minds.
Apart from that, the presentation will provide information to the industry regarding the current development of Limkokwing game courses. This is important so that more collaborations can be made between the University and the industry in the future.
This presentation will also build a momentum with Microsoft and AMD for the possibilities of establishing a Microsoft and AMD branded lab, apart from enhancing students’ presentation skills.
Overall, students managed to showcase their ideas and gain insight from the industry.
