Limkokwing University Botswana celebrate African Child’s in style

Limkokwing University Botswana joined the rest of the African continent on Tuesday last week by celebrating the African Child’s Day. As a unique University they celebrated the day by organizing a ‘Paint a Child’s Life’ at White City. The University has given the centre a makeover through renovations on different parts of the centre. Plascon Botswana donated paints.

The minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Hon. Dr Margaret Nasha unveiled the renovations of the centre. In statement the University said that they have discovered that community development projects help people achieve their potential by improving their daily lives and expanding their sense of efficacy. “With this notion we believe that the provision of day care facilities by government will not only help our society with children, but it is an opportunity to invest in human wealth.” A statement from the University said.

The University said that investing in the abilities of children in Botswana is to help the societies feel more competent and more effective ‘Paint a Child’s Life’ is an effort at building a society that believe an encouraging environment is one that can produce better Botswana.

This is an attempt to mobilize this university staff, students to work together voluntarily towards contributing to the society and changing people’s lives. We intend to encourage both staff and students to realize that the community service is an endeavor that will not only extend our relations in the community, but also create a sense of togetherness between the University management, staff and students and other industry key players through conscious behavior,” the University said.

The event was graced by the University’s spokesperson Mercy Thebe, Plascon’s assistant manager Neo Segadika, White City Day Care Centre Miss Monageng among others. Limkokwing a private university from Malaysia has in its few years of existence curved a niche by taking a giant leap in helping the underprivileged and children in particular.
