Limkokwing University of Creative Technology has done it again! Its multi-national team recently won the first Astro Nextgen Contentpreneur award, with its entry entitled Lock.
The winning project took about a month to complete.
The project director, Malaysian student Reuben Kang, also wrote the script with guidance from lecturers Mitchell Liong and Faizul Mohd Noh.
The winning film, shot together with Kenyan student Gitungo James Waiganjo and Indonesian Taufan Ericsson, involved student actors and actresses from Malaysia, Britain and China.
Lock won in the Extraordinary Short Content category and was also nominated in the Phenomenal Art Direction category.
The team bagged RM10,000 in cash and took home a trophy and certificate.
“I have learnt so much from this project because I was involved in everything from start to finish, from script writing to shooting the film,” said Reuben.
“It has been a wonderful learning experience,” said Gitungo.
“Although the team members came from different countries, we worked very well together. Winning the award has made all the hard work worthwhile,” Gitungo added.
Organised by Astro All Asia Plc, the inaugural NextGen Contentpreneur awards aim to encourage youths to pursue excellence in areas such as short film, documentary, music video, website and animation.
