In line with the intention of Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak to declare 2010 as the year of Creativity and Innovation, a compilation book produced by the President of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT), Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Lim Kok Wing, was launched yesterday.

The 340-page book titled Innovation Enabling Transformation is currently in its third edition and is filled with newspaper articles, speeches and blog excerpts—all of which mention innovation and creativity in one form or the other.

The launch ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti), Fadillah Yusof.

Fadillah mentioned how his ministry is actively focusing on the field of creativity and innovation through various programs to deliver the importance of the field to the public.

“Creativity is important to ensure innovation in any form of development is able to be implemented. Hence, all parties need to prepare themselves and learn what creativity really is and how it can be turned into innovation,” he said in his officiating speech at the launching ceremony.
