The Nigerian High Commissioner to Malaysia His Excellency Peter JE Anegbeh visited the Limkokwing University on March 27, 2008.

While in campus, he took the opportunity and met with Nigerian students currently pursuing various programmes at the University.

The dialogue session, which was held at the university’s One World Club, saw Mr Anegbeh advising the students to portray good image at all time.

“You are not here only as students but more importantly you are the representatives of Nigeria. Therefore, anything that you do will, in one way or another, affect the image of Nigeria,” he explained.

He reminded the students not to be involved in immoral activities like drug abuse and money laundering.

“You have the responsibility to maintain a good impression for Nigeria as anything negative will surely influence our nation’s development effort,” he added.

About 40 Nigerian students attended the dialogue session with Mr Anegbeh.

On that note, he urged all the students to register their names with the Nigerian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.

“Registering your presence in this country with us does not mean we are trying to control your movement but rather it is to facilitate our support to you as and when required,” he assured the students.

Earlier, Mr Anegbeh visited the Presidential Library and Branding Gallery. He also met up with the University’s president Tan Sri Dr Lim Kok Wing.

The Nigeria High Commission Kuala Lumpur was established in 1991, primarily to promote diplomatic relations between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Malaysia.

The Mission is also responsible for providing consular services to Nigerians resident in or visiting Malaysia and promoting trade and investments between the two countries.
