The graduates who completed their studies under the Generasi Baru programme that is sponsored by Felda, believed that the success they achieved was as a result of their determination and strong will.
Committed to prove their capabilities the three children of the first generation of Felda settlers from Limkokwing University, were proud to receive the Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Creative and Innovative Awards, following the recent convocation held at the university campus in Cyberjaya, recently.
An award winner, Mohd Jaslin Puasa said the children of the Felda settlers have equal opportunity to succeed like other children in the urban areas if they work hard.
“Actually I do not have any secrets to success, the most important thing is to work hard.”
“Success would not come rolling but we instead have to grab any opportunity available in order to succeed,” the youth from Felda Sungai Mas, Kota Tinggi said.
Asked on the development in his Felda area, Mohd Jaslin replied that Felda land schemes have undergone rapid change compared to the past 20 years.
“This is as a result of the determination and commitment put by the Government to develop the Felda land and now it is difficult to differentiate between an urban area and Felda.”
“All the facilities in town areas are now also available in Felda land scheme,” he said.
A second generation of Felda settler, Mohd Radzi Rajuddin from Felda Tersang Tiga, Raub, said the children of Felda settlers must change their mentality to achieve success.
“If we want to be successful, we must change our mentality, and willing to accept any challenges,” he said.
“We must think globally and widen and acquire new knowledge and try new things.”
Another award recipient, Nur Ainiah Che Rashid from Felda Lepas Hilir Satu, Kuantan said her success was due to her parents support.
“I want to share this award with my parents. Without them, I would not be successful,” she said.
