All players in the various industries are invited to join hands with the government in its transformation programme to achieve Vision 2020.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala made the call last night during the BrandLaureate Awards 2009-2010 gala dinner here.
“The government has made a promise and has implemented measures to achieve this, including to reduce crime and corruption and to improve the nation’s infrastructure and education.”
The results so far, Idris said, had been promising.
“For example, the crime rate has gone down for the first time in three years.
“The improved public transport had an increase of 163 per cent in ridership and more children had the opportunity to enrol into some 9,000 pre-school classes,” he said.
Idris even urged those present to make the time to familiarise themselves with the government’s transformation plan via online.
“You can read all 261 pages online. If you are lazy to read all the pages we even tailor to your needs and put up shorter versions from 37 to 20 pages.
“If you are very lazy, you can sit back and listen to the video.”
