Some 300 students and guests from 25 countries filled the Limkokwing One World Club in Kuala Lumpur for the prelaunch of the MAYA Inter-university Dance Charity Competition by the Indian Cultural Club which will be held in August.
MAYA was all about glitz and glamour as the bees’ knees of Tamil entertainers and celebrities, including Dr. Burn, Mista K, Gold Kartz, and the K-Town Clan made their presence felt with moving speeches.
A further treat to organisers was when IPASSION boutique founder Shaila Nair who donated RM12,000 worth of clothes for MAYA.
Special dance performances by Barathanjali Dance School and the Limkokwing International Dance Academy and a rhythmic set by South Indian percussion group, Urmi Mellam entertained the crowd as well as letting the international students get a feel of Indian performing arts.
Besides that, a line of exquisitely modified cars from the Bambush Motorsport group were lined-up outside the Limkokwing One World Club making automotive enthusiasts drool with awe over the cars.
The Indian Cultural Group will bolster up efforts to ensure MAYA exceeds the norm of a normal dance competition come August, by embedding fashion, music, theatre, and exhibitions of two extremes – automobile and cultural.
Limkokwing has spread its wings over three continents – Asia, Africa and Europe with 25,000 students from 144 countries.
