It was an eye-opening visit when the ambassador from Senegal and the Rector from its Cheikh Anta Diop University, visited the global institution, the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Cyberjaya, on March 26.
The rector Professor Abdul Salam Sall and His Excellency Abdul Kader Pierre Fall were greeted on arrival by the university’s president and founder, Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, senior vice president Network Development and Student Services Department Nazaruddin Abdul Jalil and senior vice-president Corporate Relations and Integration Fajura Juffa and faculty staff.
Professor Abdul Salam and Abdul Kader recognised the importance of having a creative university like Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, to a country.
Abdul Salam said what the university is doing is vital for the economic industry and growth of a country.
“This is important as we are living in a globalised world and there is a need for much creativity in all industries,” he said.
Abdul Salam said there are five public universities including Cheikh Anta Diop, in the former French colony. He was also looking forward towards establishing co-operation and closer ties with the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology for the benefit of both institutions of higher learning.
“Maybe both universities can work together in various areas where Senegal and Malaysia could share their areas of interests or expertise.”
“This would be a boon for both universities, and for both countries in the advancement of education,” he said.
During their visit, they went to the Presidential Library and toured the campus, its facilities and lecture halls. Abdul Salam and Abdul Kader also attended a briefing given by Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing at the presidential board room.
