Grads showcase short films and artistic works

TO CELEBRATE the graduation of the Faculty of Multimedia Creativity students, an exhibition entitled Huephoria, showcasing animated short films and digital masterpieces was held recently.

Organised at the Limkokwing Kuala Lumpur Centre in Jalan Sultan Ismail, the two-day event was launched by Multimedia Development Corporation chief executive officer Datuk Badlisham Ghazali.

Badlisham said he was always looking forward to view the works done by the Limkokwing University students as it had attracted many companies and was of high quality.

“All of you are the creative talents entering into the market and you bring a level of freshness in ideas and creativity to the industry.

“Some of your colleagues have gone to work in companies and are doing very well.

“Hence, I expect to be wowed by this year’s event as I was truly impressed with last year’s works. Graduates and the university must also work hand in hand to meet the needs of the industry,” he said.

Also present was Limkokwing’s vice-president for International Development Dr Jayles Yeoh.

It was an opportunity for graduates to showcase their talents.

This exhibition gives an opportunity for the students to share their creative and artistic works as well as their digital masterpieces while continuously maintaining an active link with the industry.

In the past, several of the students works went on to win awards. Earlier this year, Reuben Kang, Gitungo James Waiganio and Taufan Ericsson won the extraordinary short content award in the Astro NextGen Contentpreneur Award.

Hence, the exhibition could serve as a stepping stone for young and budding media artists to showcase their talents.

As designer and artists, students have their own dreams and this is represented in their works that display their creativity.
