PHNOM PENH: Dr Jayles Yeoh, vice-president for international development of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, said that 250 students are pursuing their tertiary education at Limkokwing Cambodia.
Speaking at a press conference here yesterday, Dr Yeoh said the students come from eight countries, namely, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Botswana, Malta and Cambodia.
Limkokwing Cambodia began its operations last week.

Latest computer technology
Asked why the university had chosen to set up its campus in Cambodia, Dr Yeoh explained that it was due to founder president, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Lim Kok Wing’s vision of giving everyone a chance to get a university education.
“Furthermore, Tan Sri Lim believes that Cambodia is a country with a huge potential,” he said.
“Limkokwing is an attractive option because we are a modern university which is well-equipped with the latest computer technology that other institutions may not have.”
“Besides, we offer our students an opportunity to spend one semester in our campus overseas either in Kuala Lumpur or London. This project called Global Classroom gives our students the benefit to gain a worldwide experience of the best of the East and West by studying abroad with the same tuition fees.”
Students wishing to enrol in Limkokwing University need to reach their High School Certificate level and also have a basic understanding of English. For students to improve their English, the university is also offering free English classes for four months.
In Cambodia, Limkokwing is running 40 different courses. Presently, the students have signed up for 10 courses such as architecture and technology.
